BREC well represented at SXSW
As one of the country’s biggest events showcasing the art and business of music, independent filmmaking and new technology, South By South West (“SXSW”) is a hotspot for creative entrepreneurs – making it an ideal location to share the advantages of doing business in Western North Carolina.
Attendees at the March 13-21 event, held in Austin Texas, had plenty of opportunities to learn about WNC from representatives of AdvantageWest and the Blue Ridge Entrepreneurial Council (BREC); specifically, AdvantageWest Sr. Director Pam Lewis, BREC member Troy Tolle of DigitalChalk and entrepreneur Sean McConnell of Music Allies. Also attending were AdvantageWest board member, Sam Neill, and AdvantageWest VP, Betty Huskins.
DigitalChalk exhibited in the SXSW Interactive Trade Show, which is billed as an incubator of new, cutting-edge technology and “ground zero” for the world's most creative web developers, designers, bloggers, wireless innovators and new media entrepreneurs.
Robert Scoble is one of the most popular technology bloggers in the world and the managing director of FastCompany.TV, an online video network featuring coverage of emerging technology trends and interviews with executives such as Bill Gates.
