“Southern Fresh with Tim & Jan” is a new television series starting native North Carolinians Tim Haas, a chef, and Jan Kirby, a master gardener. Shot entirely on location in NC, the program introduces viewers to locally grown, garden-fresh ingredients and shows them how to take the items from the garden to the kitchen. The series is an extension of Haas and Kirby’s garden-to-kitchen brand as seen through “At Home in the Carolinas” on Fox Charlotte and in their new book, Herb Garden Gourmet.
Thirteen episodes of “Southern Fresh” are under production by Homerun Entertainment and will be broadcast nationally beginning early 2010 on the RFD-TV network, currently with 40 million subscribers in 50 states. To celebrate, Tim and Jan invite the public to an advance viewing of the first episode of “Southern Fresh” at a black tie-optional event, Dec. 5 at J.E. Broyhill Civic Center in Lenoir.
